42 years of australian earthmoving.

O’Bryan Equipment has been designing and manufacturing ejector scrapers in Australia since 1982. Not importing them. Not rebranding them. Building them.

DESIGNING AND MANUFACTURING SINCE 1982

Since our first machine rolled out of Swan Hill, Victoria, in 1982, O’Bryan Equipment has been answering a single question: how do you move the most dirt, in the least time, with the fewest breakdowns, in conditions that defeat lesser machines?

The answer is 300+ machines currently working across Australia, in mineral sands mines, irrigated farming country, and civil construction sites. The answer is a manufacturer that still picks up the phone.

A NEW CHAPTER UNDER ATLAS INDUSTRIAL HOLDING

In July 2023, O’Bryan Equipment entered a new chapter under the ownership and management of Atlas Industrial Holdings (AIH), a Bendigo-based family-owned industrial group. Under AIH, O’Bryan has expanded its product range, invested in manufacturing capability and begun building a national dealer network to bring our machines closer to the farmers and contractors who depend on them.

The manufacturing base remains in Bendigo. The commitment to Australian-made quality remains unchanged. What has changed is our capacity to grow, to reach more customers, support more dealers and continue developing earthmoving equipment that meets the evolving demands of Australian agriculture and civil construction.

WHERE O'BRYAN CAME FROM- WHY IT MATTER

O’Bryan Equipment was founded to solve a problem that no imported machine was solving: earthmoving in the dual extremes of irrigated farming country and mineral sands mining terrain. The Murray-Darling Basin’s waterlogged clay soils demand a machine that loads clean and ejects clean, not one that builds up material
and stalls mid-cycle. The WA mineral sands corridor demands reinforced wear surfaces and a mechanism that clears abrasive load reliably in every pass.

We built for both. No competitor has followed us into this territory because it requires genuine understanding of both environments, not just a reskin of an overseas catalogue item.

Over 42 years, that founding problem has driven every development decision. When something broke in the field, we fixed the design. When operators told us the ejector door needed to be bigger, we made it bigger. When the mining market told us they needed a mine spec option, we engineered one. The 300+ machines in the
field aren’t a marketing number, they are the accumulated feedback of four decades of real operators in real conditions.

FOUNDER LEAD. SKIN IN THE GAME

O’Bryan Equipment is not a CNH subsidiary. It is not a private equity roll-up. It is a founder-led Australian manufacturer. When you call, you speak to the people who built the machine and stand behind the warranty,  not a dealer in a chain that stretches back to a corporate parent in the United States. That matters when something needs to be resolved quickly.

It matters when parts need to be expedited. It matters when you are commissioning a machine on a deadline. We are accountable in a way that a
corporate-owned brand structurally cannot be.

WHAT WE BUILD

Every O’Bryan machine is designed around one principle: the operator should be able to load, move, and eject in the minimum number of passes with the maximum load. The ejector doors, the heart of every O’Bryan scraper, was refined over decades specifically to eliminate the material build-up that reduces cycle efficiency in conventional scrapers.

Fully welded chassis — no RHS, no gussets, no fish plates — so the machine flexes with the load rather than cracking under it.
Large ejector door — proven to distribute material evenly in a single pass, eliminating the secondary blade work that costs operators time.
Auto-greaser standard — because operator-maintained machines need to be maintained quickly, not expensively.
Mine spec option — reinforced wear surfaces and enhanced structural specification for abrasive mineral sands applications.
On-site commissioning — every machine delivered and commissioned by O’Bryan personnel. Your operator is trained before we leave.

The result is a machine that costs more per hour to acquire and less per hour to operate across a working life that outlasts cheaper alternatives by years. This is not a marketing claim. It is the reason 300+ O’Bryan machines are still working.

THe warranty that backs up everyting we just said

O'Bryan - 2 Year Warranty

O’Bryan Equipment offers a 2-year manufacturer warranty on every machine, the strongest warranty in the Australian tractor-drawn scraper market. While competitors offer 12 months (Horwood Bagshaw) or no public warranty commitment (JNR Engineering), we back our machines for two years because we build them to last two years and beyond.
